Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship

Royal Caribbean Park Cafe- Vegan & Vegetarian

Your guide to eating plant-based at Park Cafe on Royal Caribbean Cruise Line!

Park Cafe is a restaurant option on Royal Caribbean’s Oasis-class cruise ships. Located in the Central Park neighborhood onboard, this included dining location offers alfresco dining during breakfast and lunch. During my February 2020 cruise on Harmony of the Seas, Park Cafe came to be one of my favorite places to eat. Skip the lines at the buffet and come enjoy this Park Cafe Royal Caribbean Vegan and Vegetarian guide.

Breakfast Options

Royal Caribbean Park Cafe

Park Cafe offers what I would call an elevated contintenal breakfast. This mostly includes: cereal, oatmeal, fresh fruits, bagels, juices, coffee, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast wraps, pastries, and more. Vegan options for breakfast are rather limited, mostly being oatmeal, cereal, fruit, and more. Non-dairy milk is available on request but may vary from ship to ship.

Park Cafe is a great place to grab a quick breakfast and avoid the long lines at the buffet. I really enjoyed Park Cafe due to how quiet and relaxed it is compared to other dining options. I would love to see at some point some more vegan options though, such as non-dairy yogurt or even a tofu scramble. Pro tip: Park Cafe is a great place to grab your morning coffee away from the large crowds.

Lunch Options

The lunch options were fantastic at Park Cafe for vegetarians/vegans. For lunch, there is an entire salad bar, made-to-order sandwiches, hot soups, prepackaged sandwiches, pastries, and more. Most of the sandwiches are listed as vegetarian but when reading the ingredients some appear to be vegan. Be sure to ask whenever you are placing your order just to clarify.

My favorite, go-to lunch was the vegetarian panini with hummus and a bowl of the soup of the day. During the duration of my cruise, the soups changed with each day but always had at least one vegetarian soup option. Cream of mushroom, cream of asparagus, and black bean soup were my favorites.

Additionally, there are prepackaged sandwiches and salads in one of the main cases. The only vegetarian prepackaged sandwich was an egg salad; delicious but obviously not suitable for vegans. The pre-made salad section offered some great options if you are in a hurry. Most of the pre-made salads were vegetarian.

Overall Thoughts

Park Cafe quickly became one of my favorite restaurants on the ship to eat at, mostly because of the great outdoor dining area. There is plenty of indoor seating at the cafe as well. As far as vegan/vegetarian options goes, I’d say I was pleasantly surprised by how many options this cafe offered. There was enough variety that I didn’t feel obligated to just have a salad every day for lunch.

I wish there were more vegan specific options available here, but I could say that about anywhere in the world. As veganism becomes more popular all over the world, we will start to see many more options pop up. The delicious food options at Park Cafe made this Royal Caribbean Park Cafe Vegan/Vegetarian guide much easier to write.
