You will see planes land and take off all throughout the day ranging from a small puddle jumper plane to the huge jet engines planes.
The water at Maho Beach is usually calm and you’ll see people swimming or playing in the sand. But, it’s still a tourist destination with plenty to explore including restaurants and shops for souvenirs. You can spend as little time here as an hour if that’s all your schedule will allow! As exciting and thrilling as Maho Beach in St Maarten can be, it is very important to stay safe at the same time. Keep in mind that you watch these planes at your own risk. People have gotten hurt in the past when they have gotten too close to the fence. You should always pay attention to the signs that are posted on how to stay safe at the beach at St. Maarten airport.
My main safety tip is to stay far away from the chain link fence that separates the beach and the airport. Also, there are signs posted of where is a safe viewing spot and where is not. So, you shouldn’t try to be a show off and get too close to a dangerous situation. Just in the few times I’ve been to Maho Beach, I’ve seen plenty of people get too excited and get too close. The main fear is someone being thrown into something due to the force from the plane. As long as you follow the posted instructions, you really have nothing to worry about.

The Caribbean is a very popular destination for all inclusive resorts and there are many to be found in the Maho Beach area. The proximity to the airport makes this a very easy place to stay for a quick visit to the island. You can be sure that at nighttime, this area becomes quite exciting as well.

Maho Beach, the beach at St Maarten airport, has some of the most expensive and nicest hotels on the island. There are several large scale resorts for you to choose from. These resorts are great not only because of how nice the hotels themselves are, but because of their proximity to the beach. Many tourists, especially Americans, like to stay on this part of the island. It is very easy to get to and from the airport from Maho Beach and that is why many people stay here. My only issue would be that you will constantly hear airplanes coming and going. But if that doesn’t bother you then I say go for it. While it is not my personal favorite way to travel, this is the best area for an all inclusive stay.

Nightclubs at Maho Beach in St Maarten
Maho Beach has some pretty exciting nightlife. While this beach is most popular during the day, there are plenty of restaurants and nightclubs in the area to choose from. I personally have only been to one of these. Since I went, it has changed into a completely different venue.
- Mykonos Nightclub-This is the newest nightclub in Maho Beach and it is supposed to be one of the best on the island. I have been to this club before it was Mykonos. They have since done a complete renovation. You will enjoy this place if you like to party through the night.
- Gamers Club-I personally have never been to the Gamers Club before but it looks more like a chill place to grab a beer and watch some sports and chill out with the locals.
Restaurants near Maho Beach
There are a handful of places to grab some food either on or around Maho Beach. You will find a variety of places to. Within walking distance from the beach is a complex that has many different options. The complex is somewhat like a mall where you can find not only places to eat. Also, you will also find some shopping and bars here. I haven’t personally eaten at any of the restaurants in this area so let me know if you try them out and how they are.

As you can see, there is a lot to see and at Maho Beach in St Maarten. Even if you are only visiting for a short visit, you have to come see the beach at St Maarten airport. Most people only come to get a quick picture and then leave. I would definitely not spend an entire day here, but it is worth a visit.
