Get ready as we explore the top restaurants and bars that make Hua Hin an attractive vacation destination. I lived in Hua Hin for two months in the spring of 2023 and these are my personal favorite restaurants, bars and coffeeshops that Hua Hin has to offer. You won’t find the same array of options here as you would in a major city, but there certainly are some enjoyable places to eat and drink in this wonderful beach town. Keep in mind these are just my personal picks from my own experiences.

Top Restaurants in Hua Hin, Thailand
In Hua Hin you’ll find lots of options for restaurants for pretty much all cuisine types. From traditional Thai to street food to fine dining restaurants, you’ll have plenty of options. Keep in mind when reading this list that I am a vegetarian so this is all from that perspective although many of these places also have delicious options for meat and seafood eaters as well.
Hua Hin Vegan Cafe & Wine
Easily the best vegan restaurant in town, Hua Hin Vegan Cafe & Wine offers a laid back atmosphere with vegan familiar favorites as well as Thai dishes. I honestly can’t count how many times I visited this restaurant during my two months in Hua Hin but its was a lot. Even if you are not vegan, I would highly recommend this cafe.
Praca
Attached to The Standard hotel, Praca is a fine dining restaurant with incredible food, fantastic service and a gorgeous view. The Standard hotel is know for being a very modern and hip hotel, an Praca definitely lives up to that reputation. The vibe is very elevated but not pretentious, the perfect place for a nice dinner out on the town. Be sure to make a reservation at this one because they book up fast.
Raktalay
This nondescript beachfront restaurant was a real treat that we stumbled upon one night while walking on the beach. They are a traditional Thai restaurant with delicious food and gorgeous views. There isn’t too much to say about it but definitely worth a visit if you’d like a beachfront dining experience.
Cicada & Tamarind Market
One of the best things to do in Hua Hin is to visit the open air markets of Cicada Market and Tamarind Market. These markets are located directly next to each other and offer both food and shopping stalls of all kinds. I suggest to come in the later evening otherwise it is incredibly hotel. In the evening you’ll find lots of people, live music, live performances and much more. The food prices are generally more affordable while still being very high quality.
Top Bars in Hua Hin, Thailand
Being a popular beach town, there are many beach bars to visit while you are in Hua Hin. From high end cocktail beach bars to rooftop bars to dive bars, there is an option for everybody.
Vana Nava Sky
Easily the best bar in Hua Hin, Vana Nava Sky bar is a rooftop bar in the Holiday Inn hotel that overlooks the entire city. The bar has panoramic views of both the Thai sea and mountains in the distance. There is even a glass bottom observation deck that you have to check out. The drinks were also quite delicious and reasonably priced. Whether you’re staying at the hotel or just looking for a fun place to get drinks, Vana Nava Sky bar should be at the top of your list.
Kindee Beach Cafe & Bar
For a more relaxed, beach bar vibe definitely give Kindee Beach Cafe & Bar a visit. Situated directly on the beach with beach chairs, bean bags, and netted seats, this is the perfect place to come have an evening cocktail. This is also a restaurant though I’ve never had any of their food. Drinks are reasonably priced. This is probably my favorite everyday beach bar.
Top Coffee Shops in Hua Hin, Thailand
While Hua Hin doesn’t have endless coffeeshop options like Chiang Mai or Bangkok, there are a few nice places to come get a coffee. These aren’t exactly boutique coffeeshops but if you want a nice cup of java give these a try.
BRIEF Coffee
Definitely the best coffeeshop in Hua Hin, BRIEF coffee is a minimalist designed coffeeshop along the main road downtown with delicious coffee and pastries. Their coffee is absolutely delicious and strong and the interior design is also fantastic. I’ve been here multiple times and have always had a top notch experience.
Airspace Hua Hin
Airspace is both a restaurant and coffeeshop with an aerospace theme. There is even an airplane inside the restaurant half. I’ve been to both coffeeshop side and the restaurant and both are pretty good. The coffeeshop would be a pretty decent place to come get some work done if you’re looking for a working cafe.
Conclusion
I hope that this list of the top restaurants and bars in Hua Hin as well as coffeeshops has inspired you for your visit. Again, I wouldn’t visit Hua Hin specifically for the food and bar scene but these places were good enough. Compared to places like Chiang mai and Bangkok, you may find the offerings in Hua Hin a bit disappointing. But overall I’d say the food and bar scene was slightly above average. There are always new places opening and Hua Hin seems to be getting a real expansion so hopefully the food scene will improve even more.
